If you have known me for a long time, you probably know that before I became serious about this blog, I was very scared to talk about it with people. Even though writing has always been a passion of mine, for some reason I was scared of what people would think of me for putting myself out there. Like it was lame to have a blog... Shame on me!
One of the things that inspired me to finally give Ambinity a try was reading one of my favorite websites, The Everygirl. Every week they interview a creative young woman that has become successful in a field she loves. But besides the fact that most of these stories are highly inspirational, I found myself being most inspired by these women's work spaces.
Trying to make my own little world, with "The Secret" vision in mind, I started planning how I could make my work station *cough* my bedroom *cough* as pretty and inspiring as possible.
I started by having live plants and predominating colors like green, blue and gold because they remind me of the beach, which ignite my creativity. Plus, turning on a candle in this setting is like being in your own little tropical zen space. Try it!
And we can't talk about pretty things in your desk/ vanity without talking about this Jonathan Adler elephant lamp! Seriously, can you stop looking at it? I sure can't. Props to my mom for getting me this for Christmas two years ago. :)
And last but not least, here's a tip I learned from Lauren Conrad, aka "Mama Lauren". Write your New Years Resolutions and put them on a beautiful frame so you can always see them.
These are some tips that have helped me not only do what I love, but distract me from very hectic days during my full time job. If you have a hobby or a creative outlet and you have been putting it aside because of the lack of time, I sincerely encourage you to find the time to create your own little environment where you can have your me time. I promise you it will be very rewarding. :)
Do you have a hobby? I want to know how you keep yourself motivated to practice it!
