7 Things to Always Keep in Your Purse

what fits in a madewell transport tote

It seems like it was just yesterday when I did one of my first blog posts back in 2013, talking about how much I needed a Madewell Transport Tote. I could imagine myself going to the Farmers Market and filling it with fresh flowers every Sunday. Oh how naive of me! In case you didn't notice by the pictures (and I bet you did!) I have been using it for pretty much everything BUT carrying flowers! It carries my laptop to and from work and almost everything that I don't want to carry in my hands (water bottles, food, shopping bags...). Needless to say, these bags are some serious business!

So today, I thought about doing a What's in my Bag, but since not much has changed since my last one, I thought I would share with you guys what I always keep in it along with some tips for being ready on the go.

I promise they will not be too obvious. lol

1. Cash

I should be the last person suggesting this since I'm always cashless wherever I go. I am always the person relying on instant money transfer apps. But, what if there's no internet when you need it?! Always keep at LEAST a $20 dollar bill in your wallet for emergencies.

2. Eyeglasses & Sunglasses

Anyone who has wore contact lenses at some point in their lives, knows that they can get really uncomfortable after a while (or is it just me?). So needless to say, if you have any type of vision impairment, always keep eyeglasses in your purse. Same thing for sunglasses! Nobody likes driving at 6PM with the sun right in your face.

3. An Emergency Makeup Bag

What do I mean by an emergency makeup bag? Anything you may need to look alive after a day of stress or a night of excessive drinking. Here are some suggestions:

  • Lip balm -- Glossier's Balm Dot Com is perfect for on the go!

  • Concealer -- This one can double up as a foundation if you know how to work it!
  • A lipstick you can wear up or down and double as a blush -- Heard great things about this one!
  • Face Moisturizer - I always keep this one in my bag.
  • Sunscreen -- Just in case you may need it during the day. Hey! #ILiveWhereYouVacation ;)
  • Makeup Removing Wipes -- Nothing says "refresh!" than removing your makeup with a wipe. Dying to try these.

4. An Agenda or Planner

Because I love to keep my on-the-go notes in the same place, planners are perfect for meetings and random things that can happen during the week. Also, some Filofax style planners can multitask as wallets, notebooks and a mini filing system. Specially if they have a zipper like my new Kate Spade Cameron Street Agenda. Which by the way, it's on sale

5. Pain Relievers

This is so important. For the last few months I've been suffering of massive headaches and I've had to resort to a lot of Advil. I am not proud of this, but it is best to be prepared. Plus they are the only thing that work on my menstrual cramps!

6. Tampons, Pads, Pantyliners and Wipes

Do not leave the house without these, even if you aren't on your period. Mother Nature can be a b-i-t-c-h... You never know!

7. Phone Accessories

If you have a charger, an external battery and headphones, what else do you need? Never leave the house without these and you'll have one less stress during the day! Also, having a cute cover like my new Case-Mate keeps your phone safer for longer. Highly recommended!

Also, everybody hates the person who is always asking for a phone charger. There, I saved you some friends!

Now I want to know about you! Did I miss something? Let me know in the comments bellow what you always carry in your purse.

Until next time,
