february beauty favorites and fails

We launched a Podcast!

Yes, you read that right. My friend from college, Silvia Vallejo and I decided that it was time to put our conversations to good use. O sea, to publish them. The Podcast is called Un aguacate a la vez and we will talk about everything wellness related: from supplements to all the woo woo astrological-mystic stuff!

You can listen to it today and subscribe on iTunes or Soundcloud!

Aaron Stewart Home - Love PR

After months of not knowing anything about Fernando Rodríguez from Aaron Stewart Home, I was pleasantly surprised to know how much they've grown and specially battled obstacles since Hurricane María hit them. They took all the devastating energy from the hardest months of modern day Puerto Rico and announced the launch of their new line: LOVE PR. This affordable new line is a capsule collection that will assist victims of Hurricane Maria across the island of Puerto Rico by going directly to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, The Sato Project, ConPRmetidos, and Instituto Psicopedagogico de Puerto Rico.

I personally love the t-shirt for working out and their luggage tags

Purina invited me to a doggie brunch with Fiona and I couldn't be happier!!! They gave us some samples of their new small breed line Purina Bella and Fiona has been loving it!

Quay Australia Black on Black Aviators

I found this during my recent trip to New York this past fall and I haven't been able to put them down! I love how edgy and trendy they look, but most importantly, their price!

Seeing some progress in Yoga

After doing yoga for almost 6 months now, I can finally see some progress, specially in my chaturangas and crow pose.

Glossier You Perfume

This is a favorite ever since I got it. Smells spicy yet sweet, but not TOO sweet for the day time. Grab it here.

Learning to cook vegan

I have been having a lot of fun learning to cook some vegan recipes and sharing them over on Instagram stories. Check out some awesome vegan books here:

Got accepted in the New York Marathon!!!

This girl is running 26.2 miles on November 4, 2018 and I can't even begin to process that. With that being said, expect a lot more posts about running, nutrition and wellness! I will definetely need them...

Coconut People

Coconut People is a store in Old San Juan that carries a variety of cruelty free beauty products that I've been dying to try. They gave me some products by Mad Hippie that I will start trying now in March to see if it fixes my hormonal breakouts. Check out some of their products here:

february fails

Beats by Dr. Dre PowerBeats 2

Now that I got accepted to the New York Marathon I am exceptionally mad at this. This is my second pair of PowerBeats by Dr. Dre and they keep failing on me. The battery doesn't last for even 24 hours without use! Ugh, please send me your recommendations for wireless headphones...

Breaking out!

On February I suffered from some really heavy hormonal breakouts, which is why I'm taking some extra care of my skin this March!

Overdoing it with Yoga

Yoga was my favorite, but being able to see some progress means that I pushed myself to the limit some days. Yes, I ended up in the chyropractor after failing to do a complete wheel pose. Yikes!

What were your favorites and fails this month?

May 2017 Favorites

may beauty favorites

If I could sum up May in one word, I would say "hectic". Between mother's day, my sister's birthday, two career profiles in the making and my very first event, #OfflineSaturdays, on top of my weekly posts and day job, this has been a crazy month. But don't worry, I have been able to stay on track of all my beauty and favorites, and most importantly, back into my healthy habits that I will share with you guys bellow.

Ole Henriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub

I talked about this during last month's haul and it is so worth it! It literally cleans my pores like a charm. I would even say better than Biore strips!

The only down side is that I really don't enjoy the smell, which to me is nothing like walnuts. But the good part is that even though this is a high end product, just little bit goes a long way!

Grab it here.

Wet N' Wild Photo Focus Concealer Wand

Wet N' Wild should be my favorite as a brand because I keep finding so many amazing products by them lately! This is not a super full coverage concealer, but it is just perfect for daily use. Highly recommended. Grab it here

As I said in last month's favorite, and such as the concealer, this is such a perfect every day highlighter. It's subtle but dewy!

Grab it here.

Josie Maran SPF Protect and Perfect

I really really thought I wasn't going to like the tinted version of my favorite SPF. But it turns out I like it even more. Since the coverage is slim to none, it's perfect for those no-makeup day, where having a little bit of coverage gives you a little bit of extra confidence.

Grab it here.

Crossfit & Apple Watch

After almost three months hardly working out, I bounced back to my fitness routine with none other than Crossfit! I started Crossfit a few years ago, but decided to quit because it's so expensive, but mostly because of pure laziness. I wish I had never left because I wouldn't be so sore now! Plus, it is such a great workout and every time I start my day with this type of workout I've notice that I'm so much more productive!

But in order to get pumped into starting my fitness routine again, I decided to purchase an Apple Watch. But if you've been following me for a while, you will know that I have a love hate relationship with fitness trackers. But hear me out: I'm an Apple freak and I cannot lie. I knew I was going to end up purchasing it, and to be really honest, it has helped me stay motivated in a very low key way.

Remember when I talked about May being such a hectic month? Yeah, it was mostly because of this event. It felt like a marathon from the moment I randomly decided to create it. From looking for a venue, a host, sponsors and even buying utensils! It was all crazy while having a full time job and running a blog at the same time, but it was so worth it! By far, one of the most rewarding experience so far! I still can't believe I had the guts to do this.

My plan is to host an Offline Saturdays every last Saturday of eachmonth, but since I will be out of town most of June, our next Offline Saturday will take place this next July, 29. Mark your calendars! Don't forget to join the Facebook group so you stay on track of everything that will be going on!

That's it for May! What were your May favorites?

Until next time,

April 2017 Favorites + Sephora VIB Sale Haul

BeautyMaría Elena RodríguezComment
april favorites and sephora vib sale haul

We have a LOT to cover this week and I'm not even going to go over the biggest Netflix disappointment of 2017 so far: Girlboss. I seriously feel so bad for Sophia Amoruso! She's been having some rough days lately... Her two books are amazing, though.

But on to the good part: I'm 99% sure that this is the first time I've spent this much money on beauty products in just one month. Between Sephora's VIB Sale and the last Ulta deal, I haven't even logged in to my bank account, because it's probably screaming for help. But as part of my #bloggingduties I got to review lots of great products for you guys! So glass half full, ok?

Warning: This post got a little sexual or super immature at times. I'll let you be the judge. ;)

Nars Tinted Moisturizer | Colourpop Eyeshadow & Highlighter | Tarte Shape Tape | Skyn Iceland Artic Face Oil

ColourPop Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Sequin

I feel like I'm the last blogger in the world to actually try out this brand and let me tell you something: I'm impressed! You all know how much I love my Too Faced Peach palette from my last Monthly Favorites, but this eye shadow is something else. I really can't wait to expand my ColourPop Cosmetics eyeshadow collection!

Why I'm loving it?

  • It's super pigmented! (More than MAC eyeshadows in my opinion)
  • It has a red/ gold pigment that makes any look instantly glamorous.
  • You get better application with your fingers, which makes it way easier for on the go!
  • It's just $5!!!!

Down sides?

  • None! For now...

ColourPop Swatches from left to right: Lunch Money Highlighter and Sequin Eyeshadow

ColourPop Cosmetics Lunch Money Highlighter

Right after talking about how I don't need more than one highlighter in my life(I have about 3), my sister bought herself a holographic highlighter by ColourPop which is mesmerizing to look at! So right away I went online to try one of their highlighters and decided to go with Lunch Money since it is one of their best sellers.

Why I'm loving it?

  • It's the perfect and subtle everyday highlighter.
  • It's just $8!!!!

Down side?

  • If you're looking for a blinding highlighter, this is not for you. Becca's Champaign Pop will always be my one true love for nighttime.

Grab ColourPop Highlighters here

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30

Gotta say that after trying the It Cosmetics' CC Cream I thought I would never like another tinted moisturizer or balm again. But I decided to give this one a try after talking with a sales associate at Nordstrom. We were between the Pure Radiant and their Velvet Matte Skin Tint and went for the first one since my skin has been going through a normal to dry phase lately.

Why I'm loving it?

  • It feels lightweight on the skin.
  • Has a good amount of coverage, even though it's a tinted moisturizer.
  • It gets better as the day goes by.

Down side?

Grab this Nars Tinted Moisturizer here

Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Oil

Skyn Iceland is a brand that contacted me in order to try some of their skincare products. I had heard about them before, but I didn't know much about them, so I decided to test out some products. This is by far my favorite! Here's why:

Why I'm loving it?

  • Skyn Iceland is vegan and cruelty-free!
  • This oil makes me wake up with super hydrated, soft and glowing skin!
  • Believe it or not, it's slowly but surely starting to replace my old time favorite, Tarte Maracuja Oil
  • Heck, I'm not even going to lie, I swear I have been seeing VERY similar results as when I used the super pricey Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil combined with the Good Genes Treatment (check out the review here).
  • And did I mention this only costs $35?!

Down side?

  • It's still not available in Sephora US (but it's available in Sephora Canada and Ulta

Get your Skyn Iceland Artic Face Oil here

tarte shape tape concealer

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

I finally got my hands into one of these. And let me tell you: The hype is real, guys!

Why I'm loving it?

  • A little bit goes a long way.
  • One dot and my super stubborn dark circles are erased.
  • The most full coverage concealer I've ever tried.
  • It has a huge wand (Keep it together, girl!)

Down sides?

  • Because of the hype, it's usually sold out!

Sephora VIB Sale Haul+ First Impressions

sephora vib sale haul and first impressions

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

I was out of this for months and I decided I needed it as much as I need my rosewater sprays, because I'm a snob like that.

First Impression: I already know and love this product.

Grab the perfect makeup companion here

Ole Henriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub

I was looking for a new face scrub and even though I had never heard about this product, the reviews on the Sephora website convinced me!

First Impression: The reviews were right! It actually cleared all my pores! Including, my supper stubborn nose black heads. Oh and, cute bottle!

Grab it here

Nars Blush in Orgasm

nars blush in orgasm

Always had this shade in my shopping list and never actually bought it. But VIB Sales are where dreams come true so I finally got my Orgasm (lol).

First Impression: I could've probably purchased a dupe for less than half the price. But what beauty blogger doesn't own this product?!

Grab it here

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

ole henriksen truth serum new packaging 2017

You'll know I can't live without this stuff! Plus, I am loving their new packaging! (Check out how it used to look like here).

First Impression: I already know and love this product. Not going to be switching up this serum until something better comes along.

Grab it here

Tarte Tarteist™ Lash Paint Mascara

I've had really good experiences with Tarte mascaras so I decided to try this one out.

First Impressions: Fall out alert! Right after I opened the tube it actually started crumbling on me. But the mascar did give me some natural and curled looking lashes, after I cleaned that little mess that happened.

Grab it here.

Bite Beauty Everyday Agave Lip Collection

This is one of those products I purchased because I loved a sample. I had run of my nighttime lip balm (yes I always have a nighttime lip balm, which is extra nourishing because of my sinus). So I decided to buy it full size

First Impression: Wow! This is a really small tube! *I will not make a "that's what she said joke"*

A little goes a long way, so if you don't mind the $26 price tag, grab it here

Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 Protect + Perfect

My sister and I love this Josie Maran Sunscreen, so since I was running out of the regular one, decided to give this one a try, since it has a little tint in it. Bet it will be perfect for those clear skin days!

First Impressions: This is really greasy and has almost no coverage! What's the point of having a tint if it doesn't cover anything? Thought about returning it, but since I love my normal Argan Daily Moisturizer, I figured it would be the same thing.

Grab it here

That's it! Hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments bellow what are your April Favorites?

Shop the Picture:

Casemate iPhone Cover | Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette | Wet N' Wild Photo Focus Foundation | Meaningful Growth Planner | The Code of the Extraordinary Mind | Kindle | La Línea Boutique Maxi Dress | Triangle Trio Necklace

Surprisingly, I haven't experimented that much with makeup this month. I have been letting my skin breath quite a bit, since it has been looking kind of dull lately. Nevertheless, I've been wearing two makeup products whenever I go out and you will see bellow why I'm loving them so much!

March has been a lot more about reconnecting with myself and getting back into my reading routine instead of just browsing around my phone until I fall asleep, which has been causing me the most horrible migraines. But 'nough rambling! Here are my March favorites. Enjoy!

Wet n' Wild Foundation

I decided to try this Wet N' Wild Photofocus Foundation once [Queen] Tati Westbrook recommended it on Youtube. I gave you a little sneak peek about my new found love on this Instagram post and here is the end result: It is by far, one of the best foundations I have ever tried. I've been wearing it everyday and can't stop recommending it to everyone, even though it is a shade or two darker than my skin tone. If that doesn't tell you how much I love it, I don't know what will.

Gotta say Wet N' Wild is ki-lling it these days! It would've never crossed my mind just how good a $5.99 foundation could be.

Meaningful Growth Planner

meaningful growth planner

Back when I interviewed Zahira Domenech for one of my first career profiles, she gave me a little hint about this planner that she was designing. So it felt a little surreal once I finally had it in my hands. From the packaging to the covers and paper quality, everything is so well-thought and designed, that I remembered exactly why I admire Zahira Domenech so much. This woman is fearless and she doesn't stop until she gets what she wants!

The Meaningful Growth Planner is all about getting to know yourself, being a little more mindful with your everyday life and scheduling your weeks according to your life's plan and purpose. I really enjoyed filling out what I'm thankful for, my goals, strengths and weaknesses. It has really helped me be more conscious (in a totally good way!) about my purpose in life, since it's the perfect combination of an agenda and a guided journal.

The planners are currently sold out, but follow them on Instagram (here) so you're the first to know once they're available for the second batch of the year.

If you're interested in knowing more about Zahira and her work, you can check out her career profile here and her 23 tips to have a more organized life here

If you're somehow scared of red eye shadow like I am, this is the perfect palette for you. It is a true blend of warm toned neutrals that you can use to be as sophisticated or as edgy as you'd like. Some people really don't like the peachy smell, but I personally don't mind. Also, the mirror in this palette is ideal for doing your makeup on the go.

I'm not a huge Too Faced buyer (apart from the Better Than Sex Mascara, which is A-MAZING), but after trying this beautiful and super blendable eye shadows, I know I will be checking out more products.

Grab the Too Faced Peach Palette here

Casemate iPhone 7 Plus Cover

Have you ever decided for a cellphone cover before you purchased your actual phone? I have! 🙋🏻. I knew I wanted a silver iPhone because it would go perfectly with this Casemate iPhone cover I saw online. I mean, look at it! Can you judge me?

Grab a similar one here. It's on sale!

I've been having some massive headaches this month and I'm 99.9% positive it has to do with the blue light in my phone. I'm too used to sleeping with my phone in my hand and it's been backfiring me. So I've been trying to get back into my reading habits and giving some much needed love to my Kindle

I downloaded The Code of the Extraordinary Mind back in November and I finally got back to it these past few weeks, not because it was boring, but because the last months of 2016 were one of my busiest ever. If you know someone who is pretty negative or that is going through a difficult time, this would be a perfect gift! The book is all about how there are some "models of reality" that are put in our lives by society and family members, that don't necessarily have to be our truths. It's all about how you can create your own reality by bending the rules. The rebel inside me is having a field day with this book.

Grab The Code of the Extraordinary Mind here

Grab a Kindle here -- I have the classic Kindle, but I can't wait to purchase the Kindle Paperwhite

La Línea Boutique

la linea boutique maxi dress

When Alexandra Ruiz, one of my co-workers told me about her new online store, La Linea Boutique, I knew I was going to love it. She has always had amazing style and a great attitude towards everything. No wonder she's an advertising account executive!

I wore this beautiful red maxi (almost sold out!) last Saturday for a STEM Events brunch and the Saks Fifth Avenue Anniversary in the Mall of San Juan and many people stopped me to talk about my dress. It is definetely a statement piece, specially if you wear it with a big chunky necklace like this one

La Línea Boutique also carries beautiful dainty jewelry (my jam!) and I have been wearing non-stop this beautiful triangle trio

The word is spreading fast so I would suggest you grab your favorite pieces ASAP! I already have my eye on this sundress

Anabelle Barranco, Co-Owner and Creative Director at STEM Events hosted a flower arrangements workshop to a group of bride to be's, editors and fellow bloggers. I really enjoyed learning how to create the perfect composition of flowers and how to correctly cut a flower stem.

My plan for April is to buy more fresh flowers and start arranging them as new creative outlet. It's so much fun and as I told you in my Instagram post, this was not as easy as I thought!

What did you love about March? Let me know in the comments bellow.

September Favorites | 2016

Beauty, Lifestyle, BooksMaría Elena RodríguezComment

As you may have seen on one of my recent Instagram posts, I have been going cra-zy over not being able to blog this past week. My job and my graduate school classes decided to get hectic at the same time. #MurphysLaw

Gladly, while I was procrastinating my midterms, I started rounding up my September 2016 Favorites (better late than never), which have been, surprisingly, a lot this past month. As you may have noticed, I don't like to make favorite posts every month, since I find that many times these don't change a lot for me. But this month, let's just say I've been feeling a little spendy. Maybe I have a case of emotional shopping? Who cares! Let's get to the good part:

Makeup Favorites:

NYX Tame & Frame Brow

My friends from NYX Puerto Rico sent me this as a gift and I must say I am hooked with it. I have never used a brow pomade in my life and now I know why people love it so much. If you want a natural look, I would recommend going for a brow wand, but if you are going out, this gives you the perfect #eyebrowsonfleek and polished look.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector

I purchased this Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector a while back and I was kind of ignoring for a while. But after I ran out of my Nars Creamy Concealer, I was needing something a little bit illuminating under my eyes. So I've been mixing this in with my Tarte Maracuja Creasless Concealer and gives me the perfect light reflecting glow I need under my eyes.

Nars Blush in Goulue (VIB Rouge Exclusive)

Yes, I fi-na-lly became a VIB Rouge after years and years of controlling myself at Sephora. And along with becoming one of the store's favorite customers (the impulsive buyers), came a fabulous Nars blush in the color Goulue. If you have tanned skin with yellow undertones, like I do, this would look beautiful on you. Now I know what's the rave over Nars blushes and I can't wait to keep trying more shades.

By the way, on my research online I saw that it is basically a darker version of Orgasm. So if you think Orgasm shade is too light for you, I would really recommend trying Goulue.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+

I always have a full coverage foundation for going out at night and a light foundation for everyday. So after I ran out of my Tarte Rainforest of the Sea, I was ready for a new daily foundation. I was looking for a more lightweight one, that had a higher SPF and skincare benefits, which after my research, ended up being this It Cosmetics CC Cream. This has absolutely changed my foundation routine for the better. It feels like skincare and just as the name says, it looks like your skin, but better. It works on no-makeup-makeup days and makeup days as well.

*But, I must make the disclaimer that if you have sensitive skin, I don't think this would be good for you since it has a very strong scent.

Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder

After watching one too many bloggers talking about baking, I knew I was ready to finally give it a try and get myself a good translucent powder. I found this one while searching them on the Sephora website, and decided to give it a try. Not only have I been loving to bake with it under my eyes, it's the first time I've seen my pores look so small. Must try!

After years swearing on my trusty Tarte Maracuja Oil + Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, I was very skeptical on Sunday Riley's over hyped and over priced facial oils and serums. But now that I've bought this kit and I am on week #3, I am loving it. And if you want an entire review, I will be creating an entire blog post on it soon. So stay tuned!

Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask

This brand makes me so curious, not only is it aesthetically gorgeous, it is natural and cruelty-free, which is right up my alley! I have had them on Instagram for a while now and was dying to try one of their products. I finally took the plunge on it when I saw the amazing reviews it had!

It has a texture that I have never seen before and it makes your skin feel so soft afterwards. I have to say that this combined with my new Sunday Riley routine has my skin very happy.

Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser

I must say this is another one of those products that I was kind of skeptical on its rave. I thought it was all good packaging, nothing else. But this ended up being my favorite makeup remover ever! I have even been ignoring my makeup removing wipes because when you use this dry, it removes every single bit of dirt and makeup in your skin. I highly recommend it.

Since I love almost all of the products I've tried from this brand so far, here's 20% off your first Glossier order. You're welcome :)

Perfume Favorite:

Elizabeth & James Perfume in Nirvana Bourbon

I am the most difficult person when it comes to choosing perfume. I think it is so personal, since people can either compliment you or hate you when it comes to how you smell. So lately I've been really into masculine perfumes and I have been trying many samples that where either too masculine or just not me.

But with this Nirvana perfume something happened that has never happened before: I read their description before smelling it and I knew I was going to love it. I ran to Sephora and, ding ding, I was right! Purchased it right away.

It makes me feel sexy and confident. Like it's the "new me". So if you're looking for a new nighttime and/or winter perfume, I would definitely recommend this one. Plus, my boyfriend loves it!

Book Favorite:

Emily Giffin's First Comes Love

I am not a huge fiction reader. I would much rather read memoirs, business books and even though I hate to say it, self-help books. I find these make me grow much more.

But when it comes to Emily Giffin, I make an exception. This author makes me feel like she's in my brain and the way she explains her characters make it feel more like a memoir than a fiction novel. This novel is all about how the things that you take for granted or don't appreciate are, most times, what you most need.

Now I want to know, what were your September favorites? Let me know in the comments bellow. :)

Until next time,

Top Beauty Products of 2015

BeautyMaría ElenaComment

Yes people! I am alive. Want to know why I was missing? Because I don't think its fair for me or for you guys to post without any inspiration don't you think? The content would have been terrible.

But to be 100% honest, I turned 25 this past November and I can't say I haven't had a mini quarter life crisis, even though I had a drafted post of "How I Got Over My Quarter Life Crisis Before it Happened" HA! I can be so optimistic at times. So as you can imagine, a lot of thinking, soul searching (super cheesy, I know) and after a weekend of cleaning, sleeping and just being with myself I can finally say I'm ready to start updating Ambinity for good this 2016! Sounds good right?

Now, enough about the boring stuff... So what better way to start the year than by talking about all the good things from 2015?! YAAAS please. So here you go, my top beauty products from 2015:

Marshmallow Fireside Candle by Bath and Body Works

Why do I call this a "Beauty Favorite"? Because it helps me unwind before going to sleep. And we all know how important a good night sleep is for your beauty routine! This candle has been a favorite ever since BBW store opened in Puerto Rico. It's just how I like my candles: warm, vanilla-ish and with just a hint of spice. Heaven, just heaven. Fun Fact: I even like it more than my $65 candle. Yikes!

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops

I finally purchased this after watching Tati aka Glam Life Guru on Youtube rave about this on a First Impressions video. Even though this is definitely not a cheap foundation it is perfect for someone wanting save money due to its versatility. Just one drop mixed with your favorite moisturizer or sunblock makes it a tinted moisturizer. Want a bit more coverage? Upgrade to two, three or even four drops. Want a luminous look? Mix it in with your favorite liquid highlighter or facial oil. So many possibilities... I just love it!

Tarte 100% Maracuja Oil

Surprise? I don't think so. I don't know why but I kept trying different facial oils to see if it worked better, but nope! This oil loves my skin and I have been mixing it in with my Cover FX Custom Drops, which is working like magic. This would not be the first time I say this, but if you have oily skin, you need to try this asap

Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm

Although this is not 100% animal cruelty free, I had to include it because I have been using it every night throughout all 2015 (I purchased this before I officially became cruelty-free).  I am already looking for a dupe for this lip balm that actually compares to how velvety my lips felt even after cold and dry air. So I just ordered Glossier's The Balm Dot Com to see how it goes... As always, I'll keep you guys posted.

Sonia Kashuk's Eye Shadow Brush

I've always thought you could apply eyeshadow with anything. Even your fingers, which is true. But when I got this brush everything changed. Not only does it feel super luxurious, it deposits the product on my eyelids perfectly. I've been specially loving this with my Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow.

Chloé Eau de Parfum

2015 is the year when I found my signature scent after years of wanting to switch from Miss Dior Cherie. It's not that I didn't like that scent, it's just that I smelled like that since High School and I was so over it! Chloe's scent is sophisticated yet youthful. It has a sweet but soft scent with a hint of spice I would say, but just go ahead and smell it by yourself. It could also be your signature scent. :)

Living Proof Sating Hair Serum

As you all know, I'm pretty low maintance with my hair, so I went from not wearing anything on my hair after I washed it to be entirely dependent on this stuff! It smells great and air drys my hair to perfection.

The original one. I tried the Real Techniques version of this for a while and I liked it, but not until I got the BeatyBlender on Sephora's VIB Sale. There should be a saying about "once you go beauty blender, you never go back", because let me tell you, I'm never using a brush to blend my foundation again.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

If you've ever had a dull face day, you should buy this. Even if you have oily skin. I have oily skin and this gives my face a subtle glow that makes it look like I had 8 hours of sleep every day. I would suggest going for the travel size ($19) since a little goes a long way and that way you can really test it out before buying the $41 bottle.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster

I never knew I needed a serum until I tried this. I love how it smells and how it makes my skin look and feel every morning after I've used this the night before. I have a complete review here.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Another super raved mascara that I was super excited to purchase since I found out this brand is cruelty-free! I don't know if it is better than sex but, it is definitely a great mascara. It's super dark, voluminizing and it can go from day to night with just one more coat. I will definitely be re-purchasing.

So that's it guys. I must say that I really missed writing, and I will definitely keep updating Ambinity throughout 2016, but with some changes. I'll keep you guys posted. ;)

See you soon!

My Heat-Proof September 2015 Beauty Favorites

One of the things that I love the most about the advertising industry is how laid back it is. I could go a week without makeup and nobody would give a ***. But you know me, and even though I have no problem with sporting a bare face once in a while, I can't resist a good no-makeup/makeup session.

Thanks to the excruciating heat we are going through in Puerto Rico, these past months have been all about minimal/ glowing makeup and finding the perfect products to assist me in this venture. Check them out here:

Tarte'sAmazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation - I don't usually like wearing full coverage foundation for everyday, but I find this one is not as heavy. The reason I've been using this one instead of a BB Cream for everyday it's simple and I guess very relatable: bad skin days. Since it has SPF 15, it's the perfect foundation for those work days were you need to have better skin. Plus, it does last a long time.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - I've always been a fan of a good liquid illuminator. After watching one too many Youtubers rave about Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors (liquid and powder), I had to go ahead and try it. Verdict? PERFECTION! You don't look shimmery, you just look glowy. I've even been mixing this with my body moisturizers for a slight glow.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer - I gave in the hype and purchased this. The applicator is amazing, and after trying it's Maybilline Fit Me Concealer dupe, I feel like the Nars one is worth the splurge. It is much thicker and I feel like it works perfectly under my dark circles and as a highlighter.

L'Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Plumper - I used to be the girl who wore clear mascara as brow gel because "it works just as well", but boy was I wrong! I had no idea this brow mascara will make my messy eyebrows look put together even after far too many days without plucking them. And as a bonus perk: They won't move! Must try, people.

Chloé Eau de Parfum - Right after being insulted by the tiny bottle of $75 that I received from Sephora, I loved this perfume. I feel like it smells so feminine and fresh, yet a little sweet. It's perfect for the daytime and work. I will definitely be repurchasing this at Amazon were it's so much cheaper!

So there you go! My heat prove September Favorites! What have you been loving this month?
