I come across some amazing deals online a few times in the week, so I decided to create a series where I will let you know what are the best deals right now and how to get them before they expire.

If you like this, I could publish it every weekend! So please, let me know what you think.

Finding an Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette for less than $30 is an amazing deal! UD is known for their amazing quality eyeshadows, so grab this smokey version before it goes. I also found this Deborah Lippmann nail polish set, which also has amazing quality products and they are cruelty-free. #FunFact

I am sucker for everything that has to do with tabletop settings, so when I saw this set of utensils, I knew I had to include them. They're perfect for the holidays!

Now, can we talk about this KitchenAid at almost half the original price?!

Who has enough accessories? I know I don't! Specially for sunglasses with marble print or the ever so chic tassel earrings. I really hope they never go out of style!

This is honestly one of the best Collective Request Sales I've ever seen. These are my top pics:

Please let me know if you found this post helpful. I could start creating it once a week.

Until next time,

Office Decor Ideas by Fernando Rodríguez

fernando rodriguez aaron stewart home

Remember back when I interviewed Fernando Rodríguez, the co-founder of the lifestyle store Aaron Stewart Home? I still can't believe that was almost two years ago. Just in case you're new to my blog, he was the first person I interviewed for my career profile series. I talked a little about the nerve wracking experience of pitching my idea to Fernando in this Instagram post, if you're interested.

After that experience I am proud to say we have stayed in touch to the point that we did another blog post on how to style your nightstand.

Right now we are working on an awesome interview with one of his teammates so make sure you're subscribed to ambinity's newsletter so you don't miss it! And that's how I ended up at Fernando's office at the ASH headquarters in Miramar for the first time.  It's literally the most beautiful office decor I've ever seen outside of magazines and I just knew I had to film a video for you guys.

So without further ado, here's my very first video filmed and edited by myself in the hopes you will find some office decor ideas. I am very proud of this video, not only because I got out of my comfort zone once again, but because this was by FAR the hardest thing I've done for this blog since I launched it. I can honestly say I have a new profound admiration for all video producers out there. You guys make magic happen!

Ready to re-decorate your office, huh? Here's a recap of Fernando's Favorite things at his office, just in case you're daydreaming about recreating his style in your own space:

  • Nespresso Coffee Machine - It's actually on sale right now!

  • Scented Candles - Fernando is currently working on a new candle scent with the ASH team. But for now, you can find really good ones here and here

  • Vintage Mid Century Modern Chest - Since this is one of a kind, you can find a similar one here
  • Acrylic frame with a hand-written letter from the Editor of GQ Magazine - Similar frame here.
  • Silver frame with Fernando and his husband, Aaron Stewart - Another similar frame here
  • Inspiration Board - Similar board here.
  • Picture with Bill Conningham
  • A copy of an article in New York Magazine in which Fernando Appeared.

Wish List | Mid Century Modern Home Decor

Decor, PopularMaría Elena RodríguezComment

If you follow me through social media you've maybe noticed that I've been kind of MIA these days. I have a slight tendency to shut down when I'm making big life decisions and right now my life has been quite hectic. I'm starting my masters degree in journalism in a week and have been house hunting with my fiancé for like a month now. So since this will be both him's and I's first homes, we've been researching and buying all the basics, like cutlery, bedding, pots and pans, etc. Basically everything that would be found on a wedding registry, since we've decided to postpone our wedding and once we have a registry it will be for a badass honeymoon, not pots and pans! Can you judge us? #Adulting

With this big decision of finally living in our own place has come a lot of interesting and not so fun situations. I thought I would have the house all to myself and decorate it like my own little sanctuary, but oh boy how was I wrong! I totally forgot the fact that I have to decorate according to two tastes: My boyfriend and I’s. And let’s just say he’s not too fond of the whole mid century modern style...

So since I’ve obviously been Pinning like crazy these days, I thought I would share with you guys my current home decor wish list. I also included some Ikea hacks I'm dying to try out. Hope you enjoy it!

1. West Elm's Acrylic Framework Chandelier

While we still haven't decided on the perfect dining table, I've already convinced my boyfriend this is the perfect statement lighting we need for our future dining area. I find that it is just the perfect amount of casual chic. Fancy, but not too much. You follow me?

2. Eames Plastic Chairs

Still trying to convince my fiancé that this is not a college dorm room chair. Any advice on how to explain to him that any 2016 home needs this mid-century modern chair?  #Obsessed

3. The perfect Bar Cart

This is totally Kathleen's from Carrie Bradshaw Lied fault. Even though I'm a firm believer in that a drink a day keeps the doctor (psychiatrist) away, I've never thought about owning a bar cart. But after seeing all the possibilities all over Pinterest and her blog, I can now say I have #BarCartGoals. Luckily, Pinterest is full with Bar Cart Ikea hacks

4. Palm Leaves Pillows

Because, duh! This goes perfectly with my Scandinavian meets tropical chic decor style. In other words, this would go perfectly with all the little house plants I will have all over the place.

5. Ikea PS Gullholmen

Ever since I first saw this rocking chair I knew I would have it in my home one day. I love how rustic and modern it looks at the same time. But honestly, I've never sat on it and it doesn't look that promising in the comfort department... Sometimes you have to sacrifice some things for the sake of style. Amirite?

6.  Emma Tripod Floor Lamp

Wouldn't this go perfectly with my Eames chairs? Yes it would. I'm a sucker for lightning and I find this would give the perfect soft reading light for the living room.

7. West Elm's Marble Oval Coffee Table

This is the queen obsession of all my home decor dreams, but sadly is sold out almost everywhere and if you're lucky enough to find one, it costs more than $500. For a coffee table.

So this is when I found the wonderful world of Ikea's VITTSJO tables. These can be transform into super expensive looking furniture with just a couple of spray paint bottles and marble contact paper. An Ikea hack that costs less than $100!

As always, I will keep you guys updated on my decorating journey, and of course, once I have a home! But now I want to know, what's in your decor wish list?!

Until next time!

How To Style Your Nightstand the Aaron Stewart Home Way

Decor, LifestyleMaría ElenaComment

My mom is the queen of keeping her bedroom tidy, clean and soothing. She always encourages that my sister and I keep our rooms organized because this is the place where you rest and therefore, should be a place you feel at ease. So when Fernando Rodríguez called me to do a blog post about styling nightstands, I was in! Fernando along with Aaron Stewart Home's lovely Personal Stylist, Lizzette "Lichy" Schettinni, created the 5 nightstand settings perfect for almost any personality.

1. The Romantic Setting

The first nightstand Fernando and Lichy styled was a very romantic one. The lavender tones combined with the fresh flowers make the bedroom look fresh and sophisticated. Plus, the bucket for the bubbly wine makes the perfect setting for a romantic night in any day of the week.

2. Sophisticated yet playful

This is the perfect nightstand for someone who is professional yet likes some color in their life. "A good book is inspirational even if you don't open it... it has beautiful images that are next to you for your sleeping time, which is a good thing", said Fernando while styling this look.

Books are also a great way to make your nightstand more functional. "The idea is to rise your small lamp with inspiring books so you can have the perfect nightstand light", said Fernando.

3. Earthy meets modern

This is a great look for a more classic bedroom. "It's always good to cover your nightstand with a little tray like this one by Natalia Subirá so it lasts longer. It keeps things from getting stained so it doesn't get scratched with your candles, etc."

Plus, no matter if you're planning a romantic night with your partner or planning a Netflix date with yourself, you should try to keep flowers in your bedroom. "Flowers always make everything look fresh, no matter what" - Fernando Rodríguez.

4. For the modern gal

I can say this is my favorite one just for the Jonathan Adler jewelry box. I mean, look at that! I swear it's made of dreams and pixy dust.

"If you want to do something classier you can use gold.. and if you have a two toned nightstand like this one, then you can play with gold for three months and then use the blue and interchange colors and ideas based on the colors of your nightstand".

Lichy also suggested adding little trays for when you forget to take all your jewelry off at night. "Add a pop of color with little trays to hold your jewelry before going to sleep.... It happens to me all the time!"

5. The playful one:

Fernando recommends to not be afraid of mixing colors. "It's all about looking around the house and finding one or two pieces that you really like and moving it around. Maybe it's something in the living room... who knows? Don't be afraid of bringing it to the bedroom and viceversa... that way you refresh the whole room.", said Fernando.

"Don't try to be matchy matchy! Have a sense of color", said Lichy while adding "Para el gusto los colores, y los colores, las flores" which basically means that if you want some color, add flowers!

So there you go, nightstand inspiration for any personality. But, last but not least, I wanted to add some random pieces of advice Fernando and Lichy offered while at the store:

- Always keep things that are very close to you and things that are beautiful that have nature, or beautiful books with beautiful pictures.

- Keep a soothing candle and a good lavender scented moisturizing cream on your nightstand.

- Always keep a glass of water for before and after you go to sleep.

- Switch things around every once in a while.

What do you think? What are your tips and tricks for a soothing bedroom?

Fall Decorations for your Table Setting

Lifestyle, Decor, EntertainingMaría ElenaComment

Something that has always made me happy are elaborate table settings. I love how they can make any meal feel fancy. So this year, for my boyfriend's birthday, I decided to finally take a look at The Everygirl's Handbook and take some inspiration from their How to Set and Style Place Settings. I had a hard time trying to make the table look more fall-ish, so I took out my mason jars and used them as vases to display the flowers my boyfriend gave me a while back. Thanks to their beautiful yellow, red and orange colors, I made the table look more October-ish.

This is how it turned out. Enjoy!
