Mother's Day Gift Guide for Every Budget

Beauty, Lifestyle, ShoppingMaría Elena RodríguezComment

I don't know about you, but Mother's Day is one of the hardest holidays for shopping! I obviously love my mother and I want to give her what she loves, but since she's a Sagittarius like me (fun fact: we have the same birthday), the only thing I always want to give her are vacation trips! Unfortunately that won't be possible this year, but I decided to create a gift guide that will reach every budget, based on what I know all the mothers I know and mine would love. Everything under $50, under $200 and under $500. Enjoy!

MOTHERS DAY GIFT GUIDE ON A BUDGET

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

When it comes to shopping on a budget this is my go to strategy: Find the most quality you can find between your  budget. That's why I recommend purchasing some QUAY sunglasses which are super cheap and great quality or an Urban Decay palette like this one. Also, a pretty and interesting coffee table book, a skincare set or high quality fantasy earrings are sure to make her happy!

Focus on this: Quality self-care items!

Ahh... The magic spot! This is where you can find good high quality items and even high end, but cheaper! In this budget bracket I would recommend you get her a super cool hair drier set like this one, a chakra balancing bath salt set like this one if she's into wellness and even a fancy fitness tracker like this one by Garmin. She's a more trendy mom? Go for some Ray Bans, statement earrings or a trendy handbag like this one which every fashion blogger is raving about!

Focus on this: Have fun with your gift!

You lucky mofo! You get to do what we all want: Spoil the most important person in our lives! So if you're going to go this route, go big or go home! Ok? Give her that Gucci belt she has been raving about or even a wallet! If she's into makeup, giver the entire set of Artis brushes. Some statement sunglasses or cocktail ring she can brag about with her friends and if she's a fitness junkie, she will love this new Garmin watch

Focus on this: Spoil yo' mama!

My New Nighttime Skincare Routine

For YEARS I had been hooked on the same skincare routine: Ole Henriksen Truth SerumTarte Maracuja Oil and the eye cream I was using at the moment, since I haven't found one that I am in love with. This all changed once the store Coconut People in Old San Juan gifted me the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum.

Pic via Coconut People

Pic via Coconut People

After just one week I started to see my skin become more radiant and smooth! Now, almost one month after I started using it, I started using Almond Oil mixed with a few drops of tea tree oil as my moisturizer instead of my super trusty maracuja oil. And I'm not talking about a fancy Sephora facial oil, I'm talking about a $10 per 16oz pure almond oil you can find almost anywhere! The result? My skin is as smooth as a baby's butt! I am going to stick to this routine for a while to see how it turns out, but I highly recommend you try this combo! Just make sure you are buying almond oil with only almond oil as ingredient, like this one

You can find Mad Hippie at Coconut People in Calle San Francisco, Old San Juan or at iherb.com. You can find pure almond oil at any grocery store, but I recommend you get it on iherb.com. Free shipping over $20, no tax (bye Amazon!) and you can get 5% off with my coupon code: AFU8252

Ayurvedic Self-care Routines

ayurveda

If you read my 5 Cheap and Easy Ways to Have a Spa Retreat at Home post, you have an idea of where I'm going with this one.  I will not go over all the Ayurveda body types (doshas) and nutrition details because they are a LOT (check out this book if you're interested), so here are the Ayurveda Self-Care routines that have improved my life recently:

  • Tongue scraping right when I wake up
  • Switch mouth wash for coconut oil (Oil Pulling)
  • Warm water with lemon before breakfast
  • Using essential oils for diffusing
  • Dry Brushing before showering at night
  • Oil Massaging before going to bed

Like everything, consistency is key! I have been doing all of these steps daily for about two weeks now and I have seen a significant improvement on my well being. From complexion to energy levels. And let's be honest, this self-care routine is making me feel like a queen! And who doesn't want that?!

I am currently working on a separate blog post with details on this process so make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter! I will share it once it's ready.

iHerb.com

Yup, you guessed it! I am HOOKED with iherb.com and I promise this is not sponsored, ok?! As you may have heard on my Instagram Stories, 2018 is all about looking for even more natural alternatives to my beauty routine! Meaning vegan, toxic free brands that I can trust.  This means that I have been looking for a one stop shop where I can find everything that makes me happy these days: everything wellness related!

That's it! Let me know your March favorites on the comments below.

We launched a Podcast!

Yes, you read that right. My friend from college, Silvia Vallejo and I decided that it was time to put our conversations to good use. O sea, to publish them. The Podcast is called Un aguacate a la vez and we will talk about everything wellness related: from supplements to all the woo woo astrological-mystic stuff!

You can listen to it today and subscribe on iTunes or Soundcloud!

Aaron Stewart Home - Love PR

After months of not knowing anything about Fernando Rodríguez from Aaron Stewart Home, I was pleasantly surprised to know how much they've grown and specially battled obstacles since Hurricane María hit them. They took all the devastating energy from the hardest months of modern day Puerto Rico and announced the launch of their new line: LOVE PR. This affordable new line is a capsule collection that will assist victims of Hurricane Maria across the island of Puerto Rico by going directly to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, The Sato Project, ConPRmetidos, and Instituto Psicopedagogico de Puerto Rico.

I personally love the t-shirt for working out and their luggage tags

Purina

Purina invited me to a doggie brunch with Fiona and I couldn't be happier!!! They gave us some samples of their new small breed line Purina Bella and Fiona has been loving it!

Quay Australia Black on Black Aviators

I found this during my recent trip to New York this past fall and I haven't been able to put them down! I love how edgy and trendy they look, but most importantly, their price!

Seeing some progress in Yoga

After doing yoga for almost 6 months now, I can finally see some progress, specially in my chaturangas and crow pose.

Glossier You Perfume

This is a favorite ever since I got it. Smells spicy yet sweet, but not TOO sweet for the day time. Grab it here.

Learning to cook vegan

I have been having a lot of fun learning to cook some vegan recipes and sharing them over on Instagram stories. Check out some awesome vegan books here:

Got accepted in the New York Marathon!!!

This girl is running 26.2 miles on November 4, 2018 and I can't even begin to process that. With that being said, expect a lot more posts about running, nutrition and wellness! I will definetely need them...

Coconut People

Coconut People is a store in Old San Juan that carries a variety of cruelty free beauty products that I've been dying to try. They gave me some products by Mad Hippie that I will start trying now in March to see if it fixes my hormonal breakouts. Check out some of their products here:

Beats by Dr. Dre PowerBeats 2

Now that I got accepted to the New York Marathon I am exceptionally mad at this. This is my second pair of PowerBeats by Dr. Dre and they keep failing on me. The battery doesn't last for even 24 hours without use! Ugh, please send me your recommendations for wireless headphones...

Breaking out!

On February I suffered from some really heavy hormonal breakouts, which is why I'm taking some extra care of my skin this March!

Overdoing it with Yoga

Yoga was my favorite, but being able to see some progress means that I pushed myself to the limit some days. Yes, I ended up in the chyropractor after failing to do a complete wheel pose. Yikes!

Valentine's Day Self Care Gift Guide

Beauty, Entertaining, wellness, LifestyleMaría Elena RodríguezComment

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

I know, I have made it pretty clear that I am not a fan of Valentine's Day. If you are new to this blog or don't know what I'm talking about, check out this post and this post

But this year, after all that happened in 2017, I'm a new María Elena and I want to embrace love more than ever. But because I still believe Valentine's Day is just an excuse to make us shop for useless stuff we don't need, I decided to look at V-Day as a self-care day to embrace self-love. The best part? Your friends and/or significant other would truly enjoy and use these gifts!

Forget about going out to dinner! Self-care is all about feeling cozy and being comfortable in your own skin and who doesn't love some cozy pj's and fuzzy socks for a night in?! But if you decide to have a steamy night with your lucky guy/girl, you can also take your Netflix & Chill time to a whole new level with a cute throw and indulgent aromatherapy like these candles or my current personal favorite, essential oils. And if you are thinking about a Galentines day, why not have a girls night in with some extra fancy skincare like this scrub or this mandarin orange body scrub that I'm dying to try! You can finish the night with a good nourishing recipe from a plant based cookbook like this one

Finally, I decided to throw in a crystal book, because yeah, I've been into some crystal healing magic lately. Thanks Gwyneth! And no, I'm not talking about Breaking Bad, by the way. Let me know if you are not totally weirded out by this topic and I will happily make a post about it. One of you guys already noticed them in one of my Instagram stories

However you decide to spend your Valentine's Day, it's ok. Just remember that you should always be your own priority. Give yourself some love!

Let me know how are you spending this VDay!

Until next time,

2017 in Review | The Best and the Worst

Beauty, Lifestyle, HealthMaría Elena RodríguezComment
best buys of 2017

This year was far from normal to say the least. From traveling to Europe for the first time, posting consistently once a week and surviving a devastating natural disaster. 2017 was intense, but it was all that I needed to check my priorities.

I made some big lifestyle changes and some huge decisions along the way. It was transformative to say the least, but I couldn't be happier for the outcome. So here are the highs and lows that helped me get there:

Beauty

Bite Beauty Everyday Agave Lip Collection

As many of the products I discover, I discovered this one out of a whim. I always like using a nourishing lip balm after my nighttime skincare routine and before I fall asleep and this one has been perfect. It's a little expensive, but it's worth the splurge since a little bit goes a long way.

You can read my initial review here.

Grab Bite Beauty Everyday Agave Lip collection here

OLEHENRIKSEN Transforming Walnut Scrub

ole henriksen walnut scrub

You all know my love for Ole Henriksen, but first thing first: This scrub STINKS! But boy does it work. If you can pass through the smell and are diligent about using this product at least once a week you will see the amazing results.

You can read my initial review here.

Grab the Ole Henriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub here

tarte Tarteist™ Lash Paint Mascara

I have the most stubborn eyelashes. They are the hardest to curl and give some volume. But this mascara is doing her part on my lashes. Plus, it's buildable and perfect for those days when you want to give your makeup look that extra sultriness.

You can read my initial review here.

Grab the Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara here.

Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask

herbivore blue tansy

This is an effective but expensive mask. It smells great and it feels really luxurious. Plus, you will see the results right away. I've been using this mask before special occasions or if my skin is looking a little dull.

I talk more about this product here

You can buy the Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask here

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Just as I suspected, this concealer quickly gained holy grail status. The hype is real guys! If you suffer of dark circles like I do, this concealer will change your life. Just keep in mind that it's super full coverage, which is why I only use it for special occasions. For my every day I've been using the Wet N' Wild Photo Focus Concealer

You can read my initial review here.

Grab the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer here.

Glossier Serums

glossier serums

I started using these serums after my sister raved about them so much. You all know my love for the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, but since I've been leaning more towards more natural and less ingredients skincare I thought it was time to give these a try.

These are definetely lighter than I thought and from my experience, you will start to see results after a week or so. The only downside is that it's 0.5 oz and for the price and for the price and daily usage, I don't think it's appropriate. Wishing they come out with a full 1oz and more cost effective packaging!

Grab Glossier's The Supper Pack Serums here

Hello, World!

glossier perfume

If you follow me on Instagram you know I went to the Glossier Showroom in Chelsey, NYC this past November. I had no idea I would love this perfume, but once I smelled it, I knew it had to be mine. Some of you know that I've been really into warm and spicy scents this year and that is exactly what this smells like. But it's not basic at all. Am I explaining myself? Describing scents is so hard!

Anyways... you can grab the Glossier You Perfume here

All of the Nirvana Perfumes

Speaking about warm and spicy perfumes, Nirvana by Elizabeth and James stole my heart this year. From their deliciously sexy Nirvana Bourbon perfume to their new Nirvana Amethyst perfect for the holidays. If you want to captivate someone, try one of these perfumes.

Grab a trio of Nirvana by Elizabeth and James Perfumes here

Rose Water Sprays

Notice that I wrote "sprays" not "spray"? That's because I don't care about the brand. I just love spraying rose water spray in my face. Does it make my skin any different? No. Does it make me feel like a queen? Absolutely! It feels like an added luxury to my skincare regimen.

Grab Mario Badescu's Rose Water Spray here

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

too faced sweet peach palette

This is the only palette I've been using. I am not big on using eyeshadow, but when I do, I like some high quality, super blendable and long wearing shadows. The shades I love the most from this palette are Summer Yum and Luscious. Peaches 'N Cream is perfect for blending out at the end.

Grab a Too Faced Peach Palette here

Lifestyle

Filofax

I come and go with planners and I have used dozens of them over the years. Even two at once. But I've come to realize that the best system for me is one where I can keep all my to-do's, calendar and notes in one place. Hence, the Filofax system. Again, I don't mind paying a little extra for effectiveness and this system lets me customize my pages and add or edit whatever I want throughout the year. This helped me stay on track with this extra crazy year!

Running

It all started with a 5K race and it ended up being the biggest lifestyle change I've done in my life. I was never a runner, in fact, I hated running. But something inside me shifted once I raced that 5K. I even credit running for my mental health after surviving Hurricane Maria, but you can read more about that in my article at Merodea

Yoga

Where do I even begin with this? I believe I got hooked on yoga by accident. It was just a way of stretching after running, but once I noticed that I had no sore legs after doing yoga and that boost in endorphins, I knew I wouldn't go back!

Going Plant-Based

I have been going back and forth with this topic for a while. But just in time when I began running and doing yoga I decided to give this a try one more time. It has been a challenge, specially after María, but I have never felt better in my life. Let me know if you would like to read more about my transition to veganism!

Traveling

These past two years have been huge in traveling for me. But now, I'm in the middle of a huge life transition which is why I will probably be putting some of my vacation time on hold. But all these experiences were amazing and necessary for me. You can read more about this here

Louis Vuitton Neverfull

This was in my bucket list since forever. After I purchased my pre-loved Speedy 30, I wanted the Nerverfull to complete my collection. Then Europe happened and I was able to purchase it for a much better price. But after I got it for a few months it didn't feel right. I didn't feel like I deserved it and after Hurricane María almost washed us off the map, I knew I had to give her up.

It's not that I'm against luxury products now. I'm just more consciously aware of everything and I just wish to have things in my life that add value to my life and I definetely didn't feel that way with the Neverfull.

We have been posting our favorite posts of the year on Facebook and Twitter so make sure you check that out.

The Cruelty-Free Beauty Gift Guide

Beauty, wellness, LifestyleMaría Elena RodríguezComment
erbaviva sunscreen and natural deodorant

Disclaimer: We are very pleased to announce that this blog post is sponsored by GoodCubed.com. Nevertheless, all the opinions in this post are our own.

Being cruelty-free is kind of tricky. Ever since I made the conscious life choice of not supporting brands that still test on animals, I've had to spend some time researching products that fit these requirements before purchasing. But when the holiday season comes around it gets specially challenging. I want to buy people ethically correct products, but they are not always as accessible as I would wish. And lets be honest, when that VIB Sale comes around, all you want to do is find what fits best to your friends and family and be done with it! And to be really honest (as always), even though I've been completely cruelty-free these last years, my gifts haven't and that doesn't feel right.

Enter GoodCubed.com. The team contacted me right after Hurricane María and while I was dying to check them out, I didn't have enough cell phone reception or electricity to properly review them. So when I finally had the chance to check them out and know their values, it was one of the few non-disaster-related good news that I received after the hurricanes.  According to their website, their "mission is to give animals a greater voice while connecting you with lovely, effective, clean beauty products that are 100% Cruelty-Free". Not only do they support and give cruelty-free brands a special retail space, they have an entire section dedicated to vegan products and women owned brands. Plus, 1% of all sales are donated to the Beagle Freedom Foundation. Talk about guilt free shopping!

Needless to say, after all we've been through as Puertorricans, the only way it felt right to create a gift guide this Holiday Season was if it had a purpose behind it. And what better way to give back this season than buying your gifts from a store that already supports an amazing cause? Plus, this is a great way to introduce your friends to the cruelty-free movement! (More on this in the end of this post)

So after browsing around in their website and testing out two of their products, I put together a gift guide that is perfect for stocking stuffers!

PS: Read all the way to the end of this post so you learn all the ways you can save and accumulate rewards with GoodCubed.com. ;)

For your sporty friend: Erbaviva Vegan Sunscreen (SPF 30)

If you follow me on Twitter you know I have been really into running these past few months. Since I run in the morning, I need a good sunscreen so I can take care of my skin while I take care of my health.

But as many of you know, many sunscreens have a lot of toxins and pore clogging ingredients which are without a doubt not good while you are sweating your a** off. This is why I decided to give this one a try. According to goodcubed.com this sunscreen is "naturally crafted with zinc oxide (a naturally occurring mineral), aloe, sunflower, olive, and jojoba oils and infused with organic essential oils of chamomile and lavender". Sounds beautiful doesn't it? It smells great also! So far, I've had no complains!

For your holistic friend: Kaia Naturals Cold Pressed Deodorant

I don't know if it's just me, but I've had really bad experiences with natural deodorants. They almost never work on me and if they do, they have a really strong smell which I don't enjoy for my armpits. This is why I decided to give this one a chance as a last attempt with natural deodorants.

But to my surprise, I haven't had any bad experiences with this one. For the past week my armpits have been dry and odorless. According to goodcubed.com, this deodorant is made with an ingredient called Ta-keh-su-mee, which is bamboo charcoal, "a time-honored Japanese secret for odor control and detoxification". Also, I read that this deodorant is great for getting out toxins and making you smell less with its constant use. Cool!

But I must say that you should store this deodorant in a cool place. With the heat and humidity in Puerto Rico I've had the experience of having this product smear all over my armpits and it's a bit messy.

for your always on the go friend: Cocovit Vegan Coconut Water Hydro Mist

Cocovit is a brand that I have been meaning to try for a while now! You all know my obsession with facial sprays, so when I saw this vegan product I knew I had to include it in this gift guide.

According to their website, what's great about this hydro mist is that it consists of coconut water, great for toning, Aloe Vera which helps heal and hydrate your skin and coconut oil which we all know is rich in antioxidants and healthy acids. Perfect for that friend who needs a pick-me-up every day.

Grab the Cocovit Vegan Coconut Water Hydro Mist here

for your skincare obsessed friend: Cocovit Besan and Turmeric Vegan Polishing Grains

Not many of you know this but these past few months, specially after surviving two devastating hurricanes, I have been approaching a more holistic lifestyle. And while researching my holistic ways, I've found all the great health benefits about turmeric; from easing headaches to helping with inflammation and insomnia.

This is why I'm totally down to try this blend of besan and turmeric which promises to "gently lift impurities, remove dead cells and stimulate cellular turnover for soft and glowing skin". I know your skincare obsessed friend will be down to trying this interesting mix of natural ingredients!

Grab the Cocovit Besan and Turmeric Vegan Polishing Grains here

for your makeup obsessed friend: EcoBella FlowerColor Natural Mascara

When it comes to mascara and being cruelty-free I haven't found a whole lot of options. I try to stay with the Better than Sex Mascara by Too Faced and the Buxon mascara. So when I saw Ecco Bella’s FlowerColor Natural Mascara I immediately added it to my wish list.

"We leave out the lacquer, shellac, and alcohol and put in natural clay and flower wax coated iron oxides. This mascara wraps around and lengthens lashes to their longest. It's water-resistant, but not waterproof. The brown and black mascara is gentle and can be easily removed. Excellent for sensitive eyes."

Umm.. Sold! Plus, since it includes a mini mirror, it is a perfect stocking stuffer for your makeup obsessed friend!

Grab the Ecobella Flower Color Natural Mascara here

for that picky and fancy person in your life: Erbaviva Relax and Awaken Body Lotions

I have so many sample body lotions that I hardly ever buy or enjoy one. This is why every once in a while I will invest in a little more luxurious one for my pampering routine, which is usually once a month (shame on me!).  What's special about these two is their aroma. One is made to be used in the morning or if you need a pick me up and the other one is meant for relaxation. I would use this last one in my feet right before putting on my fuzzy socks for bed.

And since is such a self-care item, I think it would be a great gift for someone fancy and picky... like my grandmother!

Grab the Erbaviva Relax Body Lotion here.

for that friend who needs pampering ASAP: The Soil and the Sea's Bamboo Charcoal Vegan Body Wash

No time or money for a spa day? No problem! This body wash has you covered.

"Loaded with nourishing organic ingredients, including organic aloe vera, organic coconut oil, organic olive oil, organic sunflower oil, organic hemp seed oil, and dead sea salt, this body wash will leave your skin cleansed, revitalized, and moisturized." - goodcubed.com

I think we can all agree this is the gift you need to give that friend who is always looking out for others instead of herself.

Tarte's Maracuja Oil vs Skyn Iceland's Artic Face Oil

BeautyMaría Elena RodríguezComment
maracuja oil vs artic oil tarte vs skyn iceland

Anyone who has read a few of my blog posts knows that I have been using the same combination of skincare for several years now: Tarte's Maracuja Oil and Ole Henriksen's Truth Serum. And even though I tried the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil (check out that blog post here) and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil (check out that one here, before I went cruelty-free), I always came back to the Maracuja Oil.

Current Skincare Combo

Current Skincare Combo

So once Skyn Iceland contacted me to try out a few of their skincare product, I was down to try their face oil, because I definetely needed to mix it up a bit! But to make things a little more intereresting first, here's why I like Tarte's Maracuja Oil:

Tarte's Maracuja Oil:

tarte maracuja oil review
This powerful, precious skincare oil is cold-pressed from the maracuja fruit, naturally rich in brightening vitamin C and replenishing essential fatty acids to nourish, protect and feed your skin. Harvested from the best in nature to restore balance and harmony, you can apply a few drops of this daily moisturizing face oil to quench dry skin and seal in hydration, as the gentle multi-tasker helps calm excess sebum production on oily and acne-prone skin. You can also mix it with your foundation for enhanced moisture and anti-aging benefits with a dewy, radiant finish. The weightless, hypoallergenic formula helps firm and soften without clogging pores, and works to provide an antioxidant barrier against environmental attack.
— tartecosmetics.com

Price Tag: $48 (1.7oz)

Ingredients: Passiflora edulis seed oil (aka maracuja oil) and tocopherol, which apparently is in the family of Vitamin E

Review: Here's a summary of everything I've said about the Maracuja Oil over my years blogging about it:

  • My skin loves Vitamin C and this oil is basically Vitamin C in a bottle, since maracuja is filled with it.
  • Since it is an oil, it will feel very oily the minute you put it on, but it will settle on your skin and you wake up with the most radiant looking skin.
  • I compared it with similar oils and it is not even remotely close to how good this one is.
  • It smells bad!

Where to find it: Macy's, QVC, Ulta,  Amazon, Sephora or tartecosmetics.com

skyn iceland artic oil
Arctic Face Oil, composed of 99.9% Camelina Oil, is naturally sourced and cold-pressed to retain maximum nutrients. Extracted from the resilient Camelina Sativa plant, which thrives in sub-zero temperatures, it has a unique composition of 9 Essential Fatty Acids which enables it to survive in harsh weather. Most importantly, the Omega 3:6:9 ratio of this oil plays a critical role in normal skin function making this blend exceedingly curative and rejuvenating to skin. A natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, it also soothes, calms and protects skin.

Price Tag: $35 (1.0oz)

Main Ingredient: Camelina Stavia Seed Oil, Tocopherol (just like Tarte!) and Helianthur Annus Seed Oil (wait, what?!).

  • This oil has been making my skin look and feel as soft as a baby's butt.
  • Even though it doesn't have the best scent ever, it smells better than the maracuja oil.
  • I am more convinced now than ever that this is a pretty powerful dupe (in terms of results) for Sunday Riley's Luna Sleeping Night Oil.
  • And just like Tarte's oil, Skyn Iceland is vegan and cruelty-free! <3

Where to find it: Ulta, Amazon or skyniceland.com.

Final Thoughts:

I will be re-purchasing Skyn Iceland's Artic Face Oil from now on.

Do you use facial oils on the regular? Which one are you using right now?

Until next time,

may beauty favorites

If I could sum up May in one word, I would say "hectic". Between mother's day, my sister's birthday, two career profiles in the making and my very first event, #OfflineSaturdays, on top of my weekly posts and day job, this has been a crazy month. But don't worry, I have been able to stay on track of all my beauty and favorites, and most importantly, back into my healthy habits that I will share with you guys bellow.

Ole Henriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub

I talked about this during last month's haul and it is so worth it! It literally cleans my pores like a charm. I would even say better than Biore strips!

The only down side is that I really don't enjoy the smell, which to me is nothing like walnuts. But the good part is that even though this is a high end product, just little bit goes a long way!

Wet N' Wild Photo Focus Concealer Wand

Wet N' Wild should be my favorite as a brand because I keep finding so many amazing products by them lately! This is not a super full coverage concealer, but it is just perfect for daily use. Highly recommended. Grab it here

As I said in last month's favorite, and such as the concealer, this is such a perfect every day highlighter. It's subtle but dewy!

Josie Maran SPF Protect and Perfect

I really really thought I wasn't going to like the tinted version of my favorite SPF. But it turns out I like it even more. Since the coverage is slim to none, it's perfect for those no-makeup day, where having a little bit of coverage gives you a little bit of extra confidence.

Crossfit & Apple Watch

After almost three months hardly working out, I bounced back to my fitness routine with none other than Crossfit! I started Crossfit a few years ago, but decided to quit because it's so expensive, but mostly because of pure laziness. I wish I had never left because I wouldn't be so sore now! Plus, it is such a great workout and every time I start my day with this type of workout I've notice that I'm so much more productive!

But in order to get pumped into starting my fitness routine again, I decided to purchase an Apple Watch. But if you've been following me for a while, you will know that I have a love hate relationship with fitness trackers. But hear me out: I'm an Apple freak and I cannot lie. I knew I was going to end up purchasing it, and to be really honest, it has helped me stay motivated in a very low key way.

Remember when I talked about May being such a hectic month? Yeah, it was mostly because of this event. It felt like a marathon from the moment I randomly decided to create it. From looking for a venue, a host, sponsors and even buying utensils! It was all crazy while having a full time job and running a blog at the same time, but it was so worth it! By far, one of the most rewarding experience so far! I still can't believe I had the guts to do this.

My plan is to host an Offline Saturdays every last Saturday of eachmonth, but since I will be out of town most of June, our next Offline Saturday will take place this next July, 29. Mark your calendars! Don't forget to join the Facebook group so you stay on track of everything that will be going on!

That's it for May! What were your May favorites?

Until next time,
